Preparing for Your Baby

mother and baby photoNow is the time to prepare for the arrival of your baby. The techniques of prepared childbirth can be learned by reading and practicing on your own – there are many books on the market covering this topic. A friend who has been through the classes may also be able to assist you in learning the techniques if you have questions.

Other ways you can prepare are to:

  • Make a list of the items you have for your baby and those you still need. Look through catalogs or have someone pick them up for you.  As stores often have to order cribs, you’ll need to plan in advance for this item.
  • Make a list of gifts you can request such as blankets, quilts, booties, etc. Depending on the season and your inclination, you can even start making a list of items to fill your baby’s Christmas stocking.
  • Keep a journal of your pregnancy to share with your child when he/she is older.
