This means that our doctors will manage your pregnancy and deliver your baby. Our physicians specialize in treating women with high risk pregnancies. The women we see typically have either medical or obstetric conditions that require a higher level of expertise to successfully manage their pregnancy. The medical conditions we frequently manage include diabetes, high blood pressure, and autoimmune conditions. Obstetric complications can include multiple gestations, preterm labor, cervical incompetence and invasive placentas. We also care for women with fetal conditions that might require immediate care with a pediatric subspecialist, such as a pediatric cardiologist or pediatric surgeon.

Our physicians work with obstetricians who deliver at all local hospitals. Any deliveries with San Diego Perinatal Center physicians, and all total obstetric care patient deliveries, are at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital.
